Maybe you can establish any line that makes enough money to pay out the non profitable lines. Do you have screenshots?

The airports themselves have very high maintenance costs. So if the mission has you starting out with many airports already then even with profitable airlines you may not make a profit. You need enough airplanes and/or large enough airplanes in order to not only make a profit on the line itself but to pay for the airport maintenance costs.

A tip about the game in general..: The best way to make a profit is to transport something all the time. If you have example a full train in one direction and it is empty the other you will not make much of a profit, and if you only have one train on the line then you often you might not even earn money since maintenance is so expensive.
As vimpster write airports are very expensive to maintain, so you need more planes to use the airport and they need to transport as much people or cargo as possible.
Also the longer you fly, the more money you make pr. trip. If you can make long f lights with full load you wil make allot of money pr. trip.
So make sure you have busses to transport people to the airport, or even trains.. The more citys you can fly to the more people like to use your service and maybe go from a-b-c instead of just a-b

I'm inclined to agree with Vimpster - your air lines are likely unprofitable overall due not so much to the lines themselves but rather because of the high infrastructure maintenance costs. You can look for ways to reduce infrastructure costs, though I don't think that there's any really viable way to do that in the mission, or you can try to increase the revenue from the airlines by increasing the number of (fully-loaded) planes and reducing turnaround times at the airports. Note that you can add a second runway to the Palma airport, which will reduce air traffic congestion at Palma.

Also, if you want to support the lines with profit from somewhere else, I'd suggest running a Frankfurt-Zurich-Vienna rail service; you should have plenty of people flying into or out of Palma without routing the people who want to go between the three mainland cities through Mallorca, and the airports will likely become pretty congested even without creating direct Frankfurt-Zurich-Vienna airlines.

Interesting ... I did play that mission, and I did not have any issues of my lines being in the red.

"Also, if you want to support the lines with profit from somewhere else, I'd suggest running a Frankfurt-Zurich-Vienna rail service; you should have plenty of people flying into or out of Palma"

That is a good idea. I did not think about that one.

Anyway, in this mission, since I knew it going to have a few flights from the cities on the map using planes, I build street cars lines - trams lines in all the cities that cover the RCI. Next set up a few air lines with a few planes ( one or two ) per line. All flights from Palma. From Palma - Framkfurt, Palma to Zurich and Palma to Vienna. 2 planes per lines if the frequency of the flight is between 7 to 3 min. And all the tram transit are close to or under 3 min in frequency. And the flights was getting full both ways. My air lines was in the green. As for trams, about 3 to 4 per cities. and as usual, the trams lines were in the red a few times.

Jepp, agree. Being bankrupt was never an issue during campaign.
I had Tramlines at all the cities on the mainland which fed the airports. And 2 Planes each town.
I also had a few truck lines on Mallorca such as Alcohol ect.

Thank you for the advise. I'm not sure how to make screenshots as i'm pretty new to gaming on a PC.

I did initially create a second runway on Palma when i noticed planes getting tied up at the terminal but when i realised i was losing money i tried cutting down the infrastructure maintenance so i removed it.

I had approx 10 planes on each of the 3 lines and all the planes had full seats coming to Palma and on their return journeys. I am selling approx £8million tickets however i have £7million infrastructure Maintenance and £6million vehicle maintenance. I had ships running alcohol and materials etc as well as truck routes which as far as i could tell were making money.

I have tram routes on Palma but not on the mainland. I must have something wrong. I shall create a passenger train on the mainland connecting all 3 cities and perhaps increase the number of planes but i'm scared of increasing the planes as its all very expensive but i shall none the less. I will try again when i'm home.

Thanks again for the advise, much appreciated.

Your problem is that you have way too many planes, yes you may be filling them but if they're stopping each other from taking off/landing then you're just burning money. Reduce the number of aircraft and you'll be fine.

Most of the time, in this game, you have to balance the lines. Too much vehicles, loose money, because they all waiting in line to enter a loading bay, and they are not there to buy coffee at Timmy's.When vehicles are waiting in line, you pay full maintenance. but when it is loading at the dock, you only pay half maintenance. So the trains , boats and planes has to be the right balance so no body waiting in a queue and less waiting at the dock. but the trucks, you can afford to be in line, but some cut back if nessary if you have to much of a line up. If you got a lots of goods / pass waiting , so be it, let it wait, but not your vehicles. You only add - if possible a vehicle there or there to a bit an adjustment in needed. Your vehicles has to be loaded and less wait as long as possible. THAT is improving efficiency. And your routes will be most of the time in the green.

Not complete same issue, but I am stuck as well, Menorca the small Island next to Mallorca has stopped producing, No Cows, and even not the Raw Stone material.

As I was starting maybe to early delivering meat to Inca.. I am now stuck as the request is later in this mission.

Can I do something to let it produce again, or do I really have to do the mission all over?

Hmm let it go, I have solved it to get ride of the boats, made a connection between menorca and mallorca a dam build a road and it finally started producing again..
but I think it was a bug
