Electric Train can't leave Depot
so I'm new to this game, never played the 1st title, and I'm trying to introduce my first electric train. It's all Highspeed and the electric lines are all existing but when i try to assign the train to the desired line it tells me that there is a connection missing. If I click the button to locate it, it leads me to the Depot where the train is stored. (I don't have the option to upgrade the tracks, i just place the electric lines at the train station and tell the game to keep the Catenary)

Did somebody had the same problem and could help me? Thanks!

Is there a clear path from the depot to the line you want it to go on, first thing I would check if you are positive that the line (and remember to electrify the station too) are updated to electric.

yes, the depot is neighbouring the station and the first and all the other lines are electric too.

Is the depot itself electrified? It's hard to tell from the screenshot, but it doesn't look like there is a cable going from the depot to the first catenary pole.

maybe a silly question, but looking at pick I can't see a cross over going into the station - do you have one at the other station and are the platforms designated in line manager for both stations accessible ?

the depot was not electrified because i didnt had the upgrade tool, but after a restart it was available so i could upgrage the track from the depot itself. but still thanks!

Glad you fixed it - it can be real frustrating sometimes.

Yeh the lack of upgrade tool bug needs to be fixed, it's a pain to have to restart to get it back all the time.
How can I fixed it?
Hi , this thread is out of date , the upgrade tool will now work on depot tracks.

Sorry, but I don't know if I Have the update... How can I know?
I have to use other train depots to work
You can upgrade the tracks to the depot as shown

No path electric may mean no path although if you can launch a diesel or steam vehicle on the route then yes you will have a non-electrified bit of track somewhere

5 years later.. everyone still having the same problems.
Check the track as auto suggests with a steam train, if that works, check it is electrified, likely there's a 2mm gap somewhere or the depot itself isn't connected electrically. Sell the train and build a new depot, make sure it is electrically connected and rebuy train.

As to the update.. keep the game updated and you'll have the upgrade button. It is the little icon furthest to the right on the track laying screen. Looks like a wand, next to search.
