I have slowly working through this scenerio i have been applauded for every event that i have completed have delivered the gowno to the cactus farm than fail the game????

Transporting the guano to the cactus farm is a bonus quest isn't it?
The last of the main quest objectives is to remove all traces of your existence in the area.
Did you get that far?
Do you recall that?
If you don't do that in time, you fail.

no did not thanks for the tip sure would be nice if there was some instructions i have been trying to follow some of the info but it sure seems like you have to dig to play this game.

What was the date when you failed? The entire mission needs to be done between 1885 (when you start) and 1895. It is possible you were simply taking too long.

Yes, you dig to catch the fastest worm in Mexico ;)
And a tip if you want to retry this... you can afford to do a little landscaping and widen the river at one point in order to allow boats to reach the log camp at the start of the mission. Then you can set up a boat line to ship the logs ;)

question with the tram lines when you try to remove them it is basicly distroying the whole town is that what's suppose to happen

Removing tram lines doesn't mean bulldozing the roads. Just use the magic wand tool to convert them back to regular roads without tramlines. So, you won't be destroying the town, just reverting it back to the way it was before you came ;)

Though you can use the wand tool to remove tram track it is not advisable as it is risky. If you don't happen to have the correct size road selected with the wand tool you could cause buildings to be destroyed. The safer option is to use the actual tram track upgrade tool. Using it on tram tracks will remove the tram tracks without any risk of altering the road itself.

The funny thing about this mission was when I thought I had removed all trace and yet it stated it was only 90% complete. I was going nuts trying to think what I might have missed... and then I realised what it was when I saw the percentage slowly climb to 100% without any action on my part... the population had to return to its' original numbers ;)

I'm not so sure about that. If you are talking about the part that I think you are. You don't actually have to destroy anything at all. But one possible reason why you gained that last 10% is probably due to the town redevelopment which seemed to constantly make the percentage fluctuate up and down by around 5-10% for me even if I did nothing. But all I actually did for that mission was raise the land around the town. Terraforming the landscape was one of the things you could do.
