Multi-stop Passenger Train lines
If a have a line going from A>B>C, will passengers at A utilize the route to get to C? I honestly thought they did, but it seems that everyone disembarks at every stop. Maybe they get back on again? If not, that seems a huge oversight..

They should be staying on if their destination is C, and it's the same train all the way through. From what I've seen, most people travel to the city next door only, not all the way to C. So it might appear that everyone is getting off the train, because not enough people want to go all the way to C, only B.

They do.

Always great to see my brazillion dollar train performing flawlessly as it drops 3 passengers for a couple grand, picks up 3 and then proudly trundles on.

Cheers..!

For me not. On the great US-Map from the workshop i have a route Dallas -> Memphis -> Nashville -> Atlanta. When the train fills up in Dallas with 100, 40 get of in memphis, 40 new get on, 30 get of in Nashville, 20 new get on, and all the rest get of in Atlanta.

Edit: Please note, this takes a while to swing in.

Sounds like A and B are larger whilst C is smaller and has fewer people wanting to go there. That's just how it goes if you have that kind of setup. People do utilise the train to go where they want to go. If you have your minor stops in the middle you can find the station overcrowding because few people want to get off there.

On one of my games where I had a couple Shinkansen (220kph) trains connecting 4 cities in a line, I noticed about 70-80% of the passengers getting on at either end were going the entire journey most of the time. So yeah, they will stay on till they reach the place they want to go get off at, as you would expect.

There is no general issue with traveling from A to C, Try to mouse over the passengers at the station to check their targets.
Then click on the city name and check the city targets.

This is the most likely reason for seeing everyone or almost everyone getting off at B in the OP scenario, I certainly normally see a mix of people disembarking and others remaining on board at intermediate stops on a line.
If the smaller town(s) are at the ends of the line having everyone changing at the larger towns inbetween shouldn't cause any issues, if the smaller towns are in the middle and there's an issue with no space for them to board due to everyone going between the larger towns at the end of the line that would be time to look at possibly adding an additional direct service between the larger towns alongside the stopping 'local' service. The option to add bypass lines with no platform through stations makes this easier/more aesthetically pleasing than a similar arrangement typically was in the past.
