I'm sure there's others.....
I don't think that is what he means. For example, I think he would like multiple trucks from the same line to be able to use different unloading areas in the same truck station at the same time, rather than have them queue and wait for the truck in front to unload first.
Some want the same thing for train stations.
Ain't gonna happen, at least not this version.
The OP is SOL. (I haven't tried it, but I doubt "chaining" stops together would work).
However, there is, at least with the "Large tram/Bus station" mod I mentioned above, several terminals. All the OP needs to do is put the buses/trams on separate Lines/terminals and he can do what he wants: unload several buses/trams at once.
But yeah, as you say, likelihood of seeing my request realised is low, but I thought I'd mention it all the same, to chime in with other voices. I appreciate you pointing out the mods too, thanks. ;)
Trains just use any free track on a station. I love signaling and path-finding for trains in OpenTTD. It would be great if it would be implemented here.
I've always envisioned a truck station to be trucks backing up into a bay and loading. Rather than a conveyor with side loading (at one central point). But alas, this isnt a transport game based on the improvements made over 200 years, but a simple conveyor simulator with a transport skin.
Even CiM/CS has everything loading if its fits in the stop!
What stressed this idea to me was the fact that when everything is flowing at full production, raw materials (that need the gondola on trains), clog up all the cargo bays. In the end, it's a matter of not being able to load fast enough (due to this centre-loading), that causes this effect, because even when the number of vehicles saturates the stations, still it doesn't quite get unclogged.
