No it doesn't if you don't like the game, just DON'T BUY IT!
I think it does make a bit of a mockery of the game, I mean why fly stuff right across to the other side of the map when you have an oil refinery just a couple of miles away!. However, once you have built up a Transport network and lets say there is a town on the edge of the map that needs machines and tools, and you have an abundance of those, it might make sense to fly those out to them if you can fly some cargo back!. Also, it seems to be a lot easier to attract passengers to aircraft in TF2, so if you have a number of passenger flights they could be quite profitable but the high Airport Maintenance charges might make that difficult!. If you put more aircraft on (as pointed out in the video) aircraft may start stacking up at airports (circling them) and losing money (you can't build another runway)!. I did hear (on some video) that you don't have to build a hanger at an airport, so you could get away with just one hanger for the whole map and possibly save on Airport charges that way!.
Aircraft (for me) didn't really work in Transport Fever, that maybe true again in Transport Fever 2, but for different reasons!.
No it doesn't. It is on easy.
Running costs to revenue ratio on Easy travelling full both ways is 3 - 16. Med its 3 - 12 and Hard its 3-8. In his example It cost him 3M to make 15M. Its the same mechanic whether its trains, trucks or ships.
Remember this example is year 2000. It also cost (initial investment) of 70M. He also appears to have borrowed this costing another mill per year. Easy is easy and rightly so.
