Industry (farm) not starting up
City requires food. I run a truck line from a bakery/food processing to the centre of where the demand for food is shown and place a truck drop-off there.
I run another line from the bakery to a farm.
The truck stops are all located near enough so the respective industry lights up white.
I populate the lines and wait and wait. No reaction. Zero. The farm simply does not produce anything. Production is sitting at 200, the shipment and transport are both stuck on 0.
It's not a matter of waiting for production to ramp up.
How do I analyse this and modify to jump start or even find out why this farm is stuck?
I connected to a 2nd farm with the same result: nothing, so it seems the line function with a target is not recognised somehow.

Are you sure everything is in range maybe upload a save if no mods or post screenshots of both ends of the route

Are you placing the road stops or truck stations?
The small road stops are unload only.

Screenshots or save file required to fully diagnose the situation OP.

Incidentally if you open the food factory's window you get two tabs called suppliers and consumers. The suppliers tab will list your farm and tell you how much it wants to ship to your food factory, also the % of what it wants to ship that your line can actually transport.

That's if the farm is connected at all of course, which in this case it probably isn't (for one or more of many possible reasons).

Are you using right type of trucks or wagons? For twagons grain and food use different type (condola and boxcar)

Hey, thanks for your help.
I made the screenshots - except they don't work with F12, but a camera interface which can't capture the equipment info, so I used snip tool.
I could not find a way to upload screenshots, so I managed to get them into artwork. I hope this also works.

It shows the farm, which I have amended with a truck route that is actually unnecessary with e-trucks for all cargo.

The grain is taken by train with 4 gondolas to the bakery, where e-trucks transport the products to a nearby town, where I show the demand and where I placed the drop-off. The trucks are e-trucks for all cargo.

What am I missing???
Thanks for your help

There's no connection from where you're dropping the grain to the train station. When you highlight the drop off the train station should highlight as well. As you say you don't need the trucks at that point anyway but check that when you select the train station the farm highlights.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I suspect Autocoach is correct, if the train station isn't able to reach the farm then you could replace or add the largest 'main' train station cargo building to the train station. It extends a bit farther from the station than your current buildings and would give you more distant coverage from the station.

The train station looks a little too far from the farm entry points. The truck stop immediately near that station makes little sense either without a truck station near the farm loading to arrive at the station.

It seems the Food processing plant has access roads to its nearby train station though, but still verify.

Wow! You guys rock!
That was indeed the problem. The connection from farm to station was ok because I checked it several times since the distance was quite far and was indeed marginal.
But what happened with all the fidgeting, deleting, replacing at the bakery/food processing plant, the road did not connect to the station for some reason - even though it was only millimeters away. Since it was so close I never double-checked it.
I placed outside access points to the station and it all came to life.
Working. Problem solved.
Thanks a stack since this had me head scratching for hours.

In the second picture I see that the little white "walkways" coming from the station appear to stop just short of the first little tendrils from the farm to the road. This may be the problem, indicates why there is actually no connection.

You might be able to fix this by dozing a bit of the road to the station, drawing a new piece of road down the (relative to the pic) SE side of the farm building (that should generate it's own tendrils), and connecting that to the station by shortest available path. That should be in range by my eye but of course it would be easier to judge actually in-game.

Configure the station, and add cargo buildings on the side nearest the food processing plant. Much simpler. Like I have in this screenshot: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2014665981

It's similar to what the OP required. I needed the extra building for the port.

Yes, I usually forget about that option, but as you say that's what those buildings are for.

What I did to solve the problem is call up the configuration tool and add outside access stairs.
