What to do, to prevent when Steam mods are missing

Today it happens again, Mods from a modder were deleted, for what reason ever (copyright, stolen from another modder maybe).

I noticed, that people dont read simular posts, they just open a new discussion. But it is so simple to prevent such a problem.

I too had the problem with missing mods today again. But i dont had a problem to play my savegames with these missing mods.

My way is, that i make a backup of the Workshopfolder (....\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\1066780)
of TPF2 every time i sign to new mods of steam. I use SyncToy, a small tool from microsoft, where i can say, to overwrite new data, but not deleting those, who are gone, and it only overwrite updated, so it is fast.

When a mod is gone, i look for it, what is not so easy, because you only have numbers. A trick i use is a picture viewer, because you have the preview pictures from steam in every folder.

When I found the mod, i just copy the folder into the TPF2 Modfolder, rename it, so i know what mad it is, go into TPF2, select the savegame, deselect the missing steam mod, select the other i copyed, start the game and ... can play it.

I hope, i could help those players, when they got this problem.

The Problem is just, that one has to know that before. I got blocked before I realised the importance of that. Steam js just the biggest BC; that's all I can say for now!!

When a mod is missing, you can click the little Steam icon in the mod list of the game to open up the workshop page in the Steam browser. The mod page of course is not found, but in the URL you will find the workshop ID number.
