Two-Lane-Roads useless?

Why the hell am I able to build two-lane roads if my busses wont use them? I had to put down a truck unload stop on one of my bus routes. Now the traffic is chunked up. So I though, okey, let's build a two lane road so my buses can drive buy. Well nothing happens. They wont use the 2nd lane. Why?!

Because the AI that makes lane decisions sucks. Maybe try putting the truck unload stop in the other lane?

You can put a waypoint on the two lane road and add it as a "stop" on the bus line. I do that to route my cargo trucks away from residential areas to keep emissions low.

Fixed it now, because I've redone my truck stop. But still sucks.

you can make a small 2 lane street segment with the truckstop on it. the trucks will drive on the outer lane to the stop and the rest of the traffic will stay on the inner lane.

In the preview clips for TPF2, this was shown, ability to select lanes. But somewhere between there and release, it has been removed, probably because testing showed that it caused even more issues than it fixed.

That's what I did. The truck stop is on the outer lane. The rest of traffic still refuses to drive on the inner lane, because the outer lane leeds to the next bus stop on the one-road segment.

I also want to know if there is a way to make truck lines utilise the bus lane as well? I saw truck with empty load got stuck in the intercity traffic forever left the centre truck distribution station full of cargo to transport.

Why are we calling what is clearly being described as a 4 lane road a 2 lane road? 2 lane roads are what you start with.

Because the terminology is less standardised than it should be.

Even thouse few who use other lanes leave them 3 blocks before actually changing direction. Dey don't drive further and block the whole following traffic, untill they get space in the desired lane. That's very very nuts!

I didn't keep a copy of it, but I do clearly recall one of the preview videos, showing lane control at traffic lights. It is something that they want to add. But it is complex.
