Production chains
So with all these discussions about the 2 cargo rule:

What are the actual production chains in the game?

From what i got from video's and later the ratio's from Pinstar (can be found in more detail bellow)

Input > Output (ratio)
Grain > Food (2>1)
Cruide Oil > Refined Oil (2>1)
Refined Oil > Fuel (1>1)
Stone > Bricks (1>1)
Iron & Coal > Steel(2+2>1)
Refined Oil > Plastic (1>1)
Logs > Planks (2>1)
Planks & Steel > Machines (1>1)
Plastic & Steel > Goods (1>1)
Planks > Tools (1>1)

Btw i called normal oil Refined Oil to remove some confusion

Can't confirm if the Steel one has need 2 of both to produce 1 Steel because its like that in the 3rd Mission and might be diffent in single player/freeplay

Steel does require two irons and two coals.

Logs to planks is also 2:1
Planks to tools is 1:1

I have the press build and am doing a series in Freeplay. I can confirm the other ratios when I get home.

From what i know, its not on TF2
Kronnen Dec 2, 2019 @ 11:55am
There are very few products, as in TpF1. I never understood why devs don't include more variety. Hopefully it could be modded (and work properly) to add more..

Oh, so its not only simplified to 2 items per city (which may be good or bad, unsure on that), but also the production chain offers less options too, as in there's less resources and there's also only one way to produce something :(

i.e TPF1 allowed
Construction material using either stone or slag.
Machine Factories using either planks or steel, etc .

But now its Construction material - Stone only
Hmmmm.

TPF2 should have more variety, more choices.. even if a city only requires 2. Shouldn't have even less than before :(

I wish they added some new resources and production chains, seems like we lost 2 instead (cattle and slag?).

Yes this is correct I think , so cattle and slag are gone and the only process that is more complex is the fuel one as said the options to make things in more than one way are gone .

Just saying, Can't wait for the New Industries DLC to be made for TF2.

Yeah, it has me thinking twice about the game now and I'm a major fanboy of TPF :P

Basically, there's not only going to be a simple route into a city to supply the 2 items, but also a simple route from resource to factory and out because there's no variation or alternate production chains from the factory. i.e A machine factory in TPF1 could take either planks or steel and produce tools.. or planks, steel and plastic to produce machines. I have been focusing on the 2 items per city, thinking that's ok, the steps before it can still be complex, but seems they are dumbed right down and so... will be simple A to B to C done..

What used to be a spiderweb of complex networks looks now to be a few straight lines (so to speak)

Not good.

2 to 1 ratio means for factory producing 1600 items per year you need to hook up 16 (3200 / 200) raw material producers. So it is not A -> B -> C but A1, A2, A3, A4, Ect. -> B - > C, would not call that dumbed down. Complexity is just on a different level.

Except TPF also has a 2:1 ratio with some items, but also had bi-products and options, which expanded the potential chains and routes.

i.e 2 planks and 1 steel = tools

yea in TF1 we could instead deliver 1 Steel and then slag for bricks together with stone (to create an Equal flow of Tools and Bricks) and you can deliver an Town Tools and Bricks.

Its just an fun to make complex systems, i like how in the New Industries mod you can make a lot of Diffrent Ways to make food.

Grain > Food
Fruit > Food
Folder > Livestock > Food
Folder > Milk > Food
Fish > Food

Its just makes looking at your net work more intresting.
one town gets Food made using Livestock while an other gets it using Fish ect.

Not good.

I will buy it, but closely watch game play time. Play for about an hour then decided to keep/refund. If its a simplified, prettified version then back it goes, but hoping it will surprise.
