My new one will be delivered on Monday (Dec 2). i9 (9880 hrz, 8 cores), 32 mg ram, 1TB SSD, Nvidia RTX 2080. (Yes, I have a cooling pad.)
Nope, it's not your normal laptop.
BUT, I agree, people trying to play TPF on a "normal" laptop are crazy.
Laptops are great when you dont live at your parents and need to live light. Plus, nothing turns a girl off like a desktop PC.
My girl likes my desktop PC. We are engaged since last year.
Here is your diploma in talking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
looking through the glass side panel of my PC its clean as a whistle. have not opened it in nearly 2 years.
might i suggest regularly cleaning the basement you dwell in?
So no, its nothing to do with how often I open my windows lol.
At uni I would make a lot of extra cash cleaning students laptops and even consoles:
Q "My laptop makes a noise and turns off, I'm only using MS Word. I probably need to buy another"
A "Ok well I'll have a look, I know the problem." 10 minuites later its fine.
Most students will use them sat on beds. Most adults will leave them on a sofa or the floor. They are just more likely to draw in dust. As with any fan.
Mine sits next to a 27" iMac in TDM on a nice clean desk. Still gets a nice spray and clean, and inside dusting every 3 months due to an ocd for cleanliness and temps poking 75 over 70.
EDIT: I can also guarantee inside your GPU now, the fan blades wont be pure black and smooth like new. We're not talking about sitting dust.
You're lucky man, imagine bringing someone back (none PC gamer) and having them ask "wtf is that" to a glass sided tower case with LEDs changing from blue to red depending on load.
Tbf it was quite a nerdy gamer PC. But is enough to make me thing "ahh yes, I'm no longer a teenage boy. Maybe it is time to live light and move on. Especially now I have the money". No one bats an eye lid now if they come over haha.
Same goes for laptops. Its really hard to find a powerful laptop/gamer laptop that hasn't got gills and vents and jet looking exhaust fans coming out of the back and LEDs all over it.
I just want a powerful laptop I can take to meetings or use in an airport without looking like Linus lol but still be able to play games at 60fps.
I guess its like buying an Audi, over a Focus STI. One says look at me, the other is discrete. I like discrete.
But I can see this thread has turned into desktop vs laptop for some reason lol. Triggered fanboys much haha.
