Avelia Liberty vs Speedance Express (Acela Express)
Hi there,

I bought the Avelia Liberty and immediately noticed that it's acceleration is much slower compared to the Acela Express. My question is, are the stats of the Avelia Liberty even correct? I doesn't make sense to use the Avelia Liberty on the Northeast Corridor if it's acceleration is much slower than that of the Acela Express....

What do you guys think/know about the Avelia Liberty?

Official power stats for avelia liberty are unknown ATM. The sncf avelia horizon (I'm assuming uses similar equipment) can generate 8 megawatts of power (11,000 horsepower). Avelia liberty in game can only do around 6500 hp, which I think is supposed to be per power car. Liberty has two so the power in game seems wrong.

Check the weight as for game balance the ice has half power and half weight I think which makes it cheaper

The Avelia Liberty has the worst power to weight ratio of all the high speed trains in the game. It weighs more than all of them by a considerable amount. Though if you consider the Metroliner to be a high speed train than it actually has an even worse power to weight ratio.

Check the steam workshop someone has post a fix for the Avelia Liberty which significantly improves the performance of this train.

which is weird as Alstom claims it's 30% lighter than Acela or something along those lines...

A lot of late-era electric fast trains have their stats totally borked. How can an ICE or Avelia Liberty be literally worse than their predecessors in power to weight ratio? It's like going backwards in tech.

Also, I wish the game brought back short-consist multi-unit trains as existed in TF1. In TF1 if you had a line that could justify running say a TGV for speed, but needed time to build up capacity you could have run a short consist TGV instead of the full-sized one. All multi-unit trains in the game should by right have short/standard/long versions to allow more flexibility. As it is if I'm playing with European trainsets most of the time I don't have a justification to use a TGV or ICE or any of the speedy multi-unit trains on my lines when the Class 103.1 pulling 200km/h passenger wagons in different numbers for different capacities does the job just as well, and be more profitable too in terms of lower running costs.

can you get a mod that allows you to put an engine at each of the train that are facing the opposite ways?

What exactly do you mean?

Reversed is absolutely possible, it's how most multi units are made by modders and the vanilla game .Can also reverse locos as well.
