Please change the maintenance cost for the ICE-1 train
The upkeep for the ICE train is out of the roof and makes it so that the train is not suitable to use

with a fully packed line continiously the train keeps running on a loss as you can see in the next images

it might also help just to make the train a little bit faster....
because in the description of the train it says it broke the record of fastest train with a speed of 409 km/h but in-game the train is capped at 280km/h

with kind regards

You are using it wrong. It's not a local train, it's a high speed long distance one. Go from Stuttgart to Ulm directly skipping those 3 stations in between and you start seeing increased profits. It's all about the distance travelled.

And keeping the speed up!

Actually, it's very realistic. They don't turn a profit in real Germany :D

I think the whole Germany Mission is extremely funny!

still the fact that the train being able to reach speeds of 409 km/h and being capped at 280 seems dumb to me. and i know it's not meant to be used that way but as you can see the train line is fully packed and still not turning in profits is rediculous. so you are telling me if i am gonna go longer distances with people just sitting on the train and no profits being generated, because you only get paid when they get off is more profitable? and most of the time the people sit on the train to the other side of the map anyway...
De Lus Jan 8, 2020 @ 11:14am
even on the red line and yellow line it was not profitable and those are only 3 stations
De Lus Jan 8, 2020 @ 11:20am
i can get it that it indeed was not a profitable train in germany... and maybe the costs are different in a free game. (have not played a free game yet). should it not be the case then thats just sad. because that will mean i will never use that train ever again... my shinkansen train-line in one of the previous campaigns also stopped in tokyo-nagoya and osaka and that one was very profitable

OK, here is how it works . The maintenance cost is paid every year it is X (large number) it is more or less the same whether the train is stopped at a signal or running flat out.

It is your job to get the most out of this vehicle , you are paid for the straight line distance between where someone gets on or gets off and you want as many people on the train as possible - with the train doing as many trips as possible - so you need it to be going quickly (hopefully for long periods) and not slowing down at all except for stations . If it is full doing 100km/h avg will pay the same as half full doing 200km/h avg as 200km/h the train would do twice as many journeys.

You know there is a difference between a specific, prepared record and a reasonable, economic maximum speed?

But how fast does it actually get on your lines? I can't imagine that the ICE gets near to the maximum with that short distances and many curves.

Despite of that, I think it's one of the more profitable trains in germany...

The problem is not its cost or max speed, the problem is its power output.
It technically calculates with 1 power car, while it has 2. The game stats are for 1 power car ...
In real life it has the power of 7600KW or 9600kW in the game it has only 5000kW which makes it slow.
uzurpatorex Jan 9, 2020 @ 12:26am
With 9600kw it would be even more expensive to run :P Overall - trains faster then 140-160km/h have a very, very specific niche in this game. Otherwise peak efficiency for passenger services is about 140-ish.

"With 9600kw it would be even more expensive to run :P"

Partially off topic, but the veheicle pricing in the game is worse than train fever or transport fever 1 ... Technically they failed to look at the original price, and they "calculate" one.
There are no longer "special" trains/engines that are efficient in sg and but lack in other things.(RIP ae 6/6).
If A is better than B then its better in almost every aspect and has higher price.
There are no trains that are "energy efficient"(less maintenance) high power but low end speed.
