How to play custom maps
i got a workshop map and i do not know where you select it

go to freeplay and then top right click play map and it'll allow you to select the map

If you use the Custom Settings option during setup you can select any 0-year from 1850 through 2000, but I don't think that it's possible to set the starting year more specifically than that at game creation.

Turning the Sandbox Mode mod on allows you to change the current date to whatever you want during play, and you can probably do the same for a custom map using the Map Editor.
