Modular Station Not Working
I have a 2 platform passenger station and when I went to add a freight platform, the track is not recognized and I am unable to route freight through the station,. I had to go Transport Fever 1 Style and build a second station. Is the Dev going to be fixing this issue? this was one of the core promises of the second game...

Did you try to put the platform onto existing rail and not the rail the station builds? The platform will not work on normal rail.

need to click the cargo hud icon when creating a line.

You can now make stations into both passenger and cargo by adding the platforms for each.

I have the same issue. No matter how I construct the station, if it is combined it only sees the tracks connected to passenger platforms.I even tried building a cargo station first and then adding the passenger platforms and it has the same issue with the cargo tracks. This needs to be fixed soon.

Yes, I Did, I added track only through the station edit menu

Yes, however that is not the problem, the station is not even recognizing that the track, platform and main cargo building are there, so changing the line has no effect

So the cargo icon(the box) is not showing up over the station? Cause if it is, you need to actually click that icon to make sure lines get routed to cargo terminals.

Awesome, thank you. You need to create a new line and assign it to cargo.

Ah yeh, that's as intended.. I've seen the same, it's abit stupid in design, but basically you cannot have passenger cars and cargo cars on same train.. why? I have no idea.. Royal Mail have been using passengers trains for over 200 yrs in the uk to move both passengers and cargo.. so why didn't it catch on anywhere else..

And yeh, you should have 2 icons now on each station, passenger and cargo icons.. you need to select the appropiate icon to make the required line. Also bare in mind if you edit the station.. it'll often break your line and you'll need to remake it.

Thanks Martin for full explanation, had just come to same conclusion about being unable to mix passengers and cargo on a single train. And yeah, kinda weird but maybe its just a UK Royal Mail thing were used to ;)

Yeh it was one of the first things I wanted to try out, since I never saw anyone in the streams try it or talk about it.. since we can put both platforms on a single line it makes sense to have both on a train. but nope.. You can put the cars on the train.. but you'll never load cargo with them.. or passengers if using a cargo based train.. as it'll never stop in the passenger part.. it's actually a better system in tpf.. as you could drop cargo at passenger stations at least.. but this works as well.

Thanks the help, the new line saved me!

BTW, have since found you can mix cargo and passengers on a single train as long as they pick up at different stations or visit same station twice (once for passengers, once for cargo). It's all because when creating the line (route) you must select either the passenger or cargo icon above the station, which then determines what will be picked up (or dropped off).

If there was a line assign to the station already, you need to re-assign the station in your lines. I had the same problem that I added passenger platforms to a cargo station and the passenger platforms weren´t recognized until I deleted the station in the lines and reassigned them. Make sure, that you always click on cargo symbol or passenger symbol depending what line you want to create.

I had this problem until i realized that on mixed stations there are two icons, one for passengers and one for freight. You have to click on the freight icon when creating a new line, not the passenger icon.
