Haven't played DTG Train Sim for a long time ( can get boring which cannot be said of TpF if you ask me..;-) but i remember tilting DMU/EMU's became available during the later years of development. I believe this would be noticeable both looking at the external train and from the cab also. I also believe it will take quite a while still before we're going to see that in TpF .. ;-)
If you play Train Sim World such tracks are highly obvious in some of the German routes.
I'm sure the same sort of tilt due to banking could also give the illusion the rails are banked. Or even just auto bank the high speed tracks on curves.
Something to make the trains look more dynamic running about would be most welcomed by me.
By me too. Absolutely! When it comes to that it is still the ancient freeware traincab sim BVE that shines like no other trainsim. F.i. highspeed drive over switch streets was something to behold, both visually (in cabview swaying and dancing about of the scenery) and sound. Just perfect!
That would be great but if that would be realized it would've been mentioned in the vehicle video, don't you think ?.. I hoped for a simple representation of a cab, cockpit or wheelhouse to make riding along even more enjoyable. I guess not going to happen neither. Maybe later ....
I noticed that on many german routes as i live in germany. I also saw this rail "camber" or inclination or how you call it also on tram routes.
Well yes you would gain some 'eye candy' , it would look great, and when you consider the detail on vehicles in TF2 that's important to many!.
Realism. And I think that's the point ... call it eye candy or what not.
I think he means actually seeing the train tilt thru a highspeed corner.
And what's still missing in the camera department is a steady 'trackside' camera ( like a 'fly-by' camera in a flightsimulator). In my TpF book never too much shaking a stick at eye-candy. ;-)
A trackside Camera would be great (I mean you get a lot of camera views in games like planetcoaster, but I guess TF1/2 is more of a strategy type game, having said that though why put such emphasis on the authentic ways vehicles look then deprive us of some great ways to view them)!.
