Possibly a very nice feature: RAIL INCLINATION
As some people may know, modern higher-speed railways have an inclination in corners allowing trains to pass the corner with higher speeds. In Transport Fever 2 it would be a cool feature if you could increase the topspeed in corners by making an inclination that would
for this the construction cost would be a bit higher.

Here is what i mean visualized: :D

The Construction (Interface/Control) of such an inclination could be done like in Planet coaster but not with such high angles! :D

You are talking about (what I would call) the camber of the track, could they simulate that in a game, not sure!.

They actually had that in TpF1. Build a regular rail track bend which has a lower speed than 120 km/h. Then upgrade it to high speed track, and notice how the speed limit increases. This is their simulation of camber.

I believe officially it is called 'cant' . But there's also something like 'tilt' , where it is the train itself (apart from the bogies) that tilts towards the inner side of a corner in order to pass it at high speed and reduce the lateral forces. We already must have either this 'cant' or 'tilt' system build into TpF because there's deffinately quite an increase in speed thru corners noticeable the more advanced the trains become thru the years. ( and high speed rail type is used)

Haven't played DTG Train Sim for a long time ( can get boring which cannot be said of TpF if you ask me..;-) but i remember tilting DMU/EMU's became available during the later years of development. I believe this would be noticeable both looking at the external train and from the cab also. I also believe it will take quite a while still before we're going to see that in TpF .. ;-)

Tilting trains (virgin pendolino for example in the UK) are one thing and cambered tracks (It is called cant as mentioned above) are another. We do not have the ability to build such tracks visually, even though you could argue they are already represented in the game by “high speed tracks”.

If you play Train Sim World such tracks are highly obvious in some of the German routes.

Have to agree with OP. Was quite annoying to see tilting trains in TpF that didn't tilt. Although I think the driver camera did.
I'm sure the same sort of tilt due to banking could also give the illusion the rails are banked. Or even just auto bank the high speed tracks on curves.

Something to make the trains look more dynamic running about would be most welcomed by me.

What happens if a tilting train passes a non tilting train on a bend , and will we have more flexible (look around) driver cameras in TF2?!.

By me too. Absolutely! When it comes to that it is still the ancient freeware traincab sim BVE that shines like no other trainsim. F.i. highspeed drive over switch streets was something to behold, both visually (in cabview swaying and dancing about of the scenery) and sound. Just perfect!

That would be great but if that would be realized it would've been mentioned in the vehicle video, don't you think ?.. I hoped for a simple representation of a cab, cockpit or wheelhouse to make riding along even more enjoyable. I guess not going to happen neither. Maybe later ....

I noticed that on many german routes as i live in germany. I also saw this rail "camber" or inclination or how you call it also on tram routes.

If you had it, other than some eye candy, what you gain?

Well yes you would gain some 'eye candy' , it would look great, and when you consider the detail on vehicles in TF2 that's important to many!.

There's gonna be more changes in graphics and gameplay than we can shake a stick at. The last thing we'll be worried about is if a track tilts in the corners or not.

Realism. And I think that's the point ... call it eye candy or what not.

I think he means actually seeing the train tilt thru a highspeed corner.

And what's still missing in the camera department is a steady 'trackside' camera ( like a 'fly-by' camera in a flightsimulator). In my TpF book never too much shaking a stick at eye-candy. ;-)

A trackside Camera would be great (I mean you get a lot of camera views in games like planetcoaster, but I guess TF1/2 is more of a strategy type game, having said that though why put such emphasis on the authentic ways vehicles look then deprive us of some great ways to view them)!.
