Honestly, I'm a little sickened. I agree with OP, seeing Holo like this spoils the enjoyment I had of the original series.
Also, in the age the story takes place, it was perfectly normal to be wed and bear children at the age or 15, sometimes/oftenly even younger. In the middle age, the legal age of girls for marriage was 12. And sometimes they even married younger.
