I dunno SkillUp, and I won't say Ascent and Remnant are the best games ever... but I like both of them. :(

That's not really true at all though? He rated Plague Tale, Bayonetta and GOW positively recently which was completely in line with the general consensus. Then gave Saints Row a negative review and Gotham Knights a mixed review like most people did. Purely from these recent examples alone, I'm not really sure how you came to that conclusion.

Weird that people are so salty about a reviewer.

His taste in games generally align with mine, with a hand full of exceptions.

I swear some of you don't actually go outside and experience the real world, though. Painting things as black and white as "He's a sell out because he recommended a game I don't like." - yikes.

gmanlives isn't a reviewer. He's a critic. Knowing a critic's tastes is important. I love borderlands 2 and shadow warrior 2, and he hated them. But this game is more of a third person feature creep dump by the shadow warrior 2 devs, and he hated it just as much, which means that I will probably like it. This is the difference between a critic and a reviewer. Reviewers don't focus on taste and review the quality of all the popular releases. Critics review VALUE. You may loathe Sharknado and decry its poor quality, but to me, Sharknado has a hell of a lot of value.

This is a rather lazy argument on my part as I just got off work, but still, I hope it helps shed some light.

I don't trust any positive pre-release reviews. Conflict of interest is too obvious.

I have almost always agreed with skillup after playing a game. The last time I decided to go with the "majority" against his recommendations I tried and refunded Sonic Frontiers. Reviewers are all about finding someone who you usually agree with. If SkillUp isn't your guy, just keep looking.
