Beware: In co-op, only the host progresses
Just a little note before people buy it to co-op and figure out it's like Far Cry where only the host has any progress saved. So if you want to play solo, you have to create a new game and start over.

We still dont know about charecter progression

The guest in the coop session gets everything that the host gets, too. It's just that none of this transfers to the guest's single-player save file. Let me know if that's clearer. :)

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Progress is solely locked to the host's save file, which is very unfortunate.

Apparently Character progressions should be saved across CO OP session, :

"the co - op session build is carried across sessions - especially if you play with the same person."

So what 100% transfers over? If I play with my friend and we get 4hours in. The next day we start up and I invite him does he have all the skills/gear we got yesterday in those 4hours.

Is the only thing that doesn't transfer is the guest doesn't get a save file like the host.

As far as I understand, as the guest, you simply play a CLONE of your host's character. It's simple sidekick coop.

I think the way the system works is you have a co-op character and a singleplayer character. For the co-op character, you either get to choose to keep it on the next co-op game, or get the resources and choose to re-spec. I don't think you get the host's character.

kinda sad to have COOP mode, and only allow to play a simple clone....would have enjoyed to play another character (more "ranged" oriented than close combat, without a glove, etc...) but clones....i'll pass, sorry. lazy job to say the least, here :(

That really sucks. You need to change this. Nobody wants to play with a friend and have to do every mission literally twice.

Meh, I don't care. I'd rather have coop than not, and companies have figured out a way to give coop to us rather than not because of the technical nightmare of syncing everything.

Me and my brother have played through Far Cry 5 coop in this manner and didn't give a ♥♥♥♥.

so glad i checked the forums before buying... almost bought but then thought, i should get a better idea of how the co-op works first. thanks all for the info, saved me a refund...
