The numbers are probably not the rods. I got a question asking me about the number given to the weavers.
I think I'll need to try to decipher the spider's song from act 1.
It's my only remaining lead.

I've translated the text from interacting with the weavers, it is as follows.
"Hear the song of my spirit. All life is the center of it's own world, all homes are traps in disguise. The number of perfection is four and sixty, so speaks the green one. As above so below, the first and final truth emblazoned on all things."

You just saved me a lot of time, Phaze_knight.
Thank you.
I wasn't sure if anybody had gotten this far yet, since the game's only been out for less than a week.

I think the 21 thin keys refer to the tarot cards because cards are thin and there are 21 of them, not sure. Also the silver number might refer to the poem of the Whiteblacks. "One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold and seven for a secret never to be told. Never, never, never to be told." Also when you successfully hunt a Whiteblack you get some cryptic nonsense. something along the lines of five silver nuggets six gold nuggets side by side and seven something.

Ah, very interesting. I need to hunt some whiteblacks it seems.

Girlfriend's been playing it, and I've been helping out. The first number is from the Weaver's message in part one, and it's 64. The second is from the Way of the Whiteblacks, and it's 5. The third we haven't figured out. It says it gained physicality and was swallowed by a Waterbound warrior.

This immediately made me think of the meteorite that Fathom takes from you in part two, and the artifacts you can get from it. I've gotten a Pearl and the Living Labyrinth - but neither seems to have shown a number, and fiddling with them provides no further guidance.

This is definitely the most obtuse of the numbers so far.

This is literally the only thing left for us to do in the game. Golly, trying to figure this one out is frustrating.

The Blackburn at the top of the tree in the Allmother's dream has a little more information regarding this puzzle, if you visit it multiple times:

After visiting it three times it says:
"The weaver upon the eye.
The whiteblack, mastered.
The longscale chieftain, inside-out.
They hold the keys.
Thanks be to the powers infinite for not granting them to me.
I am not special. I hold nothing. Thanks be."

Even so, I still haven't found the solution. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the Bezoar you get from Tempest in Part Two, since its in-game description mentions some things that seem to line up with the clues. I haven't attempted to access the door with it in my inventory yet.

The other possibility that occurs to me is that it might have something to do with the schools of knowledge in Part Two, particularly the number-focused one. Kind of a lot of work to get back to that scene, though. Though, not much more than translating a whole message from Braille haha.

I suspected the longscale chieftain, but I only encountered him once, a long time before I tried going for the dreaming door.
It's a random encounter.

I found the longscale cheiftain.
I am about to open the dreaming door.

I've never encountered a longscale chieftain. I like the game overall - love it, even! - but I gotta say locking this behind an obscure random encounter is a pain.
Odeum Jun 21, 2019 @ 1:15pm
Yeah it was a bit of a pain.

Oof. Any hints on how to encounter the Longscale Chieftain? Do I just . . . hunt Longscales until I happen to find it?
Odeum Jun 21, 2019 @ 2:43pm
It's in part 3. It's a "massive scalebeast lurking in the water"
Dstolt Jun 21, 2019 @ 3:38pm
Final achievement unlocked! Thank you for letting me know a Longscale Chieftain was an actual thing I could encounter in the game, and where to find it. I don't think I ever would have found it without your help!
Odeum Jun 21, 2019 @ 3:51pm
No problem.
