The game foundation will be similar to Stikbold!, but with new iterations and improvements. We are still experimenting a lot with the format, so I can't promise exactly what will make it into the final game. One of the things we are pursuing is a more dynamic system where objects can affect each other based on different rules and create emergent situations. We think this sounds super fun, but there is no real way of knowing how it affects the game before we try it out - maybe it breaks completely, and then we may have to reconsider.
Apart from this, many of the differences are around the game. OddBallers will have online multiplayer, a character creator, accessories, new game modes, etc.
We will share some of our progress, so stay tune if you want to follow along.
Best,
Martin
One thing I missed in Stikbold!, however (and hope to see added), are rule-modifiers; it would have been nice, for example, to implement a more traditional dodge-ball rule-set, in which you can't cross a line in the middle of the arena, which forces you to have a bit more skill than cheaply running up and smashing opponents in the face (great fun, but obviously less skill required).
Please, even if you don't plan on having modifiers, per se, do ensure that there's an ability to play a mode which doesn't allow opponents crossing the middle of the arena.
