There is an option in the menu to turn on seasonal events.

Tip: if you’re looking to get all the new achievements, get the one for knocking on doors WITHOUT the mask first. Once gotten it is apparently not easy to remove.

JDS does it to just add stuff to the game (the overlays were not in the game before the updates) and BATDR does not dial out to anything via the internet so changing the system clock will allow you to get the achievements

very good to know for the future, is this the same case for the secrets of the machine? I know they did a few changes to that one when it first dropped
