Lore Shards never spawn?

I've had several very long solo runs and never found a single lore shard.
During my entire time playing, I may have found like 2-3 total.
I would love to unlock the achievement associated with the lore entries, but at this rate, it will take me hundreds of hours to do.

Am I doing something wrong, or are they really just astronomically rare?

The devs recommend to do the ambush, download and raid missions if you are looking to target the lore shards but I have tried that and didnt find a single one so yes I think they are super rare and probably not worth your time until they add some other means of getting them

Maybe they could make the lore shard an extra mission like the high priority mission
