Yes you can. It is highly suggested to have a mic so you can communicate as this game takes lots of teamwork.

This is spot on. A mic is pretty much mandatory as you *need* to communicate effectively

If you have trouble finding people, or want a better chance of finding players who will communicate, I recommend joining the official VC discord server.
