Since we only have endless mode now and we need to do (or skip) some mission nodes on the map before it's boss time. How about instead of doing a mission where you have a chance to get some loot, you instead head to a repair station to use that jump to trade alloys (or some other resources that could be added) into ship health. And it could be expensive to do so. Perhaps only one or two chances to do that between each boss fight.
This would add a layer of strategy to the game: You'd have to think if it's better to get more loot and risk more damage OR use big chunk of your loot to repair the ship, but you won't be getting anything else on that jump.
I've been suggesting this since endless mode was announced. Another idea I had was special repair plates that can over time repair more of the hull than a basic repair plate.
I think I've heard that devs are not that keen on making the hull repairable to 100% but since there clearly is a demand for it and devs listen to our feedback, I'd like to think there's still a chance for that to happen :)
The previous response was that they thought it would make the game too easy if we could repair that much. I don't think that is the case, I think they just need to either make it very rare, or very expensive.
