What is Void Crew?

Void Crew is a chaotic, co-op roguelite for 1 to 4 players – Outfit your spaceship and crew for thrilling quests, brave fierce enemies in space battles... and try not to panic!

Can I play Void Crew solo (or with one friend)?

Sure thing! While ectypes work best in crews, METEM wants solo flyers (or with just 1 friend) to be successful on their objectives!

For 1.0 we have improved several things... - Solo players have available auto-shooting turrets (B.R.A.I.N.) with Empowered Homunculus, Pilot Cruise Mode, Target Locking and Scanning, plus several other features and systems in the ships!

Unique Solo-loadouts is available for both Frigate (1-2 player ship) and Destroyer (3-4 player ship). Read more >>

What about 2 players? All of the above is also available for 2 players. The game difficulty scales with amount of players, so 2 players is fine. Just go ahead invite a friend for even more co-op fun!

I'm new to the game... HELP!

Don't worry ectype, we got you!

We created 10 quick videos explaining all the basics to Void Crew. From starting in the hub and creating a game, to travelling around the void, repairing the ship, using the fabricator… everything you need to know to jump into pilgrimages and help in the fight for METEM.

What languages are available on Void Crew?

Audio is only available in English.

For text, Void Crew have 12 languages.
The languages available are: English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Ukrainian.

Is matchmaking possible in-game?

Yes, we have matchmaking in-game. Here you can find other to play with, If you don't have friends available to play (...or even meet new friends in there).

When setting up a game, you can make both public and private games,

Can I join a game that is already on a quest?

Yes, you can! Dynamic joining allows you to join a game that has already started.

Is it possible to fully repair your ship? My crew fixed everything and we still aren't at 100% health!

For the 1.0 version, we we have introduced Sanctified Hull Repair Plates, which restore permanent health to the ship when used.

Is Void Crew available on consoles?

For now only available on Steam. But, we might consider consoles at a later point.

What about Steam Deck?

Yes! Void Crew is fully playable on Steam Deck… and we think it’s pretty fun to play it!

I have friends all over the world. Can we play cross-region?

Yes! Cross-region play is available, so you’re not limited when playing with whoever you want to! Keep in mind you might experience high ping if playing with people in a different region, though.

What about controller support?

Void Crew has full controller support.

Is Void Crew a fully online game?

Void Crew is indeed an online game, so you need an internet connection to play. However, you don't have to pay any subscription; once you buy the game, you can play for as long as you want (remember to take breaks!).

Do I need to create an account to play Void Crew?

No extra accounts are required; your Steam account is all you need! Well, and Void Crew, of course.

Can I play on my wide/ultrawide screen?

Yes! We recently increased FOV limit to 140 for Ultrawide screens, so you should be fine!

I am experiencing crashes or other technical issues/my game doesn’t launch at all!

Okay, let’s start with the basics!

• Make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements
  
• Check if your computer drivers (specially GPU drivers) are fully updated
  
• Try launching the game without other applications running to see if the issue persists

If that doesn’t help, let us know here on Steam Discussion forums, on our Discord! [discord.com], or send a ticket through Focus Support Center[support.focus-entmt.com], and we’ll do our best to help. To make it easier for us, please try to include the following:

• Windows DxDiag report (instructions here[support.microsoft.com])
  
• The Player.Log file of the game available here: C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\LocalLow\Hutlihut Games ApS\Void Crew

I purchased Void Crew, but download isn't starting! What do I do?

Sometimes Steam takes a few minutes to start the download. You might have to completely restart Steam to force the download to start

I found a bug and want to report it! What should I do?

There are different ways, but the one we recommend is reporting through the bug report channel on Discord! [discord.com]. That way other community members can chime in if they’re experiencing the same, and it helps us keep track; plus, our developers and QA teams are here on Discord as well!

And what if I have feedback or ideas to improve Void Crew?

You can write on the Steam Discussion forums, or voice your feedback through Discord[discord.gg], using the feedback channel. It’s easier and more effective for us to keep things in the same place!

Are the NPC portraits AI generated? What about the voices?

All visuals in-game are done by our human Artists (no visuals generated by AI).

In the 1.0 version we have replaced all character voices in-game:

• New voice acted dialogue by human professional voice actor, for all non-Homunculus characters (METEM Command, Ectype Pilots, Hub Newscaster).
  
• New voice for Homunculus, authentic text-to-speech, created by human professional voice actor, as base for cloning in-game AI voice (we call it ethical AI: Consent/Credit/Compensation. Voice actor paid per word generated).

What to do if someone is AFK or intentionally sabotage my game?

Void Crew has a kick feature! If you are the host of the game:

• Host should Open the Escape Menu (ESC keybind)
  
• and from there kick the problematic player.

You can also mute specific users this way (no need to be the game host for muting).

Can I avoid Interdictions? How?

Yes, you can! You need to be quick and coordinate a bit with your crew, though:

• As soon as you see the tunnel turning red, make sure someone in the crew selects a new destination on the Astral Map.
  
• The pilot should pull the void jump lever as soon as that's done, and jump out of there.
  
• If you managed to jump out in time, congratulations! You've avoided the Interdiction.
