Are the missions random?
Do you just select a game mode and a location, or is their a sequential order...possibly even some semblance of a campaign (haven't read anything close to there being a story/narrative so probably no campaign)?

Asking this way may be too simplified to be perfect, but should get point across: Does the game have rogue-lite qualities (meta progression/upgrades remain for future), rogue-like qualities (access only for current playthrough), or features from each genre?

If my assumptions are so off that my questions don't make sense, please ignore what I asked and just write your own applicable description. Thank you

it used to be that you could select from a smattering of missions, they changed it into an endless style chain.

You have some data log for history, but they are a random find.

The only thing you keep is your xp, and your talent points. Everything else is lost after a mission.

Mission are random, loot for each mission are random, difficulty are random. So for your first jump you can go in a dement mission, or a normal. So you choose a mission to get as much alloy possible early on, and use or scrap the item you get when you complete the mission. But even if it's random, i can manage to build whatever i want, and the ship is done after the 2 or 3rd boss depend on your luck.

When the core of the ship is done, you're only looking for some speficic relic/legendary mod to fully optimize everything.

Thank you for the response. Just one clarification. You mentioned the only carry overs between missions being xp and talent points.

Is it a system like the following: gain xp to level up -> Level ups give you talent points -> Talent Points make you character stronger ?? The more you play means better attributes/skills/abilities?

I get why some people dig games like vermintide 2, but I find them so empty. Only gaining meaningless aesthetic rewards or "improvements" is just not my thing. It sounds like that is not the case for this game.

I would just ask a simple rogue-like or rogue-lite question, but I think the amount of gamers that don't understand the difference (or use them interchangeably) would create confusion. Even a bunch of devs use the terms incorrectly, which always surprises me.

I just saw one of the store pages videos was titled roguelite endless, and found my answers within it. The talent points are for true carry over progression. They also looked pretty extensive and varied, which is key.

10 Bonus points to the devs for using the term "roguelite" correctly.

10,000 Bonus points for the part in the video of "....nothing can stop you. Except for Steve. Steve hasn't figured out how to operate the air lock."

I apologize about wasting everyone's time with my questions. I will purchase this game purely due to that 5 second segment of the video. Void Crew looking to be my type of game is just an added perk.

Never apologize about asking question, that's what they are made for, and it's better to have you ask us question than see you post a rant post about the game after buying it cause it wasn't what you expected ;)
