Hey! Sorry to hear you have issues playing solo. Would you like to elaborate what exactly makes it not playable?
I can tell you that we - based on community feedback on our discord - in Update 4 added player count adaptability to twists, as these were too harsh for small crews.
So let us know what you find is difficulty so we have a chance to fix potential issues - We (devs) do play solo ourselves, but we admit we know the game so we might be playing those 'obstacles' differently :)
Sincerely
Daniel
Thanks for leaning in
Other hard things, bombers with shields... and elite bombers with shield.
The algorithm concerning rewards and drops. During a play, I was at my 7th stage and I still had a MKI Benediction, not a single blank rare or epic anymus and not even a single upgrade module. The drop system is messy.
The AI spawn system is questionable. First stage, I get to destroy 4 swarms of fighter and 2 swarms of heavy fighters just to reach a wreck (bonus loot), for possibly 2 - 6 alloy. PLUS 2 more swarms spawned while I was looting those 2 - 6 alloy
The refund system was augmented to buy stuff, but not for the refund... I get 4 alloy to recycle a MKIII weapon (comon blank is 20 alloy). Same thing for mods, they go 5, 10, 15... but refunds are 2, 2 and ? for the MKIII
Why can't gunners buy medium and large crate ammo?
I like to play with the minigun, one of my favorite... When I heard about endless, I was super hyped to play with a minigun in endless mode... that got removed, now I have to wait 6 - 8 rounds before I can get one... and by then, my ship HP is down to 40% and things are getting serious that I get to play for a round or 2
Another thing, I use to hit F and get on a seat, now I need to hold F, that's time consuming, especially when even though you see the sign that says to sit, you hold F, and nothing happens, so now you have to reposition yourself a few more time just to be able to sit.
So I just tried multiplayer....
Just to say how the algorithm and AI spawn system is outrageous.
1st Round, out of hub, I even suggested to use a destroyer instead of the frigate, 1 stage, we get a system upgrade from the first box, and the bombers... are shieldless
Now I know your system knows when you are playing alone, because it says: We see you are playing alone, consider inviting a friend or using the lone ship
My rant was ill placed, it seems that the easy mission of escorting metem ships is bugged, although it's set for easy mode, it's a very difficult mission. I tried one earlier at veteran difficulty and it was no problem, but at easy, it was very hard
@Ataxio: We changed the Fabricator logic for Endless to embrace the Roguelite nature of relying on the drops being offered by the Objective choices. This prevents cookie-cutter builds, but it also has the effect that the solo player is more challenged in finding stuff that works for their unique needs.
I have mixed feelings. But we generally get to start with a benediction which is frankly the best gun in the game anyways. That plus being able to start with brains with two players on a frigate resulted in a lot of fun.
VERY much appreciate being able to move around all stock builds as well, that was a huge positive change. So far we've enjoyed the changes quite a bit. But removing our ability to make any other gun seems somewhat odd to avoid meta builds, esp since we can start with a Benny. But I can understand the direction your taking now that objective drops are a thing.
How about adding a fit for the destroyer that had a brain or two? The most we ever generally have for this game is my self and a buddy. We've duoed the destroyer many times to great effects, but having a brain to start with would be great.
Also, while I might have your attention. Torpedoes or missiles... any plans to add them? I sure would love to fire some big ordinance like that :]
Power requirements for the B.R.A.I.N. are a bit silly, for what little power you have in the the Solo (1-2 player) ship has, if you want to shoot from both sides. I honestly think a small change here to have 1 B.R.A.I.N. control both side for 3 power would be more balanced for Soloing.
I also noticed the the Fabricator doesn't seem to always refine and can be broken thus filling up ship inventory slot or throwing it on the floor.
Outside of those small issues, it's been fun to play. I look forward to future updates.
