Did you try clearing your graphics cards' cache? In doubt use DDU and try again
Okay well good for you, you probably have a beast pc that doesn't care about the worse performance in the new update.
Updating to the latest nvidia driver and restarting pc helped a bit but still performs worse than usual.
I am running the game on a laptop. I wish I had a "beast PC".
I noticed it is worse when looking at enemy cluster or just simply inside the ship, so there's that. If going EVA then it ain't so bad
Previous update ran extremely better.
We all bought the game back during the last update, and it was running great for all of us without any FPS problems.
So i think the same as @Alligator Pear said it is something whit optimization is broken with new update.

We've found a bug where Low and Medium quality settings is not applied correctly, severely effecting some players. We already have a fix candidate already in testing. Once deemed stable it will be rolled out immediately as a Hotfix.

We JUST rolled out a Hotfix! If you are having FPS/Performance issues please try out LOW or MEDIUM quality settings.
