What do you mean lose the opportunity to do repairs? You can only get interdicted while Void Jumping right?
So far exiting the Air lock = Instadeath so you can't even repair when void jumping.
When our crew dwindled down to myself and one other, we ran a single one-off mission; upon completing it and leaving, we were in the warp tunnel and it immediately turned red. I could have evaded the interdiction, but we decided to let it play out just to see how it was.(We were in the solo frigate, my friend was an engineer/GM).
We popped out in the interdiction, and we had almost zero issues handling all the shots coming at us as we set primary targets appropriately. It was a fun fight in the nimble frigate with BRAIN guns; but we didn't come close to dying at all.
I can see it being peeled back abit, as it should be like a 15-20% chance of being interdicted; but if you've got someone paying attention you can easily exit warp and avoid it.
For me, it hasn't been an issue as I often pilote, and play almost exclusivally on the frigate. Any problematic run I had were on the destroyer, which I think is what deserve a thread here.
The ship is just too fragile, it's only good point being the added module slots. However, you run into trouble in situation like yours, were you get pulled into a fight underprepared with a ship that doesn't compensate it's hitbox with more health, so I get why you'de get rekt right away.
I don't think it's an issue with the mission, if the game never throw you some curve balls it'll become too stale, but it highlights the main problem of the destroyer being too weak at the start of a mission to offer a proper chance at the fight.
EDIT:
I was thinking, aside from my destroyer rant, instead of having a random chance to be pulled out of the void, why not have an increasing chance depending on a threat level. essentially, the more you kill and damage the hollow throughout the mission, the higher your threat level goes, raising the chances of being intercepted. It would prevent being pulled right at the start, and could encourage different types of gameplay.
You want to special mission, be a murder hobo. You want a quick get in and get out, just grab what you need and avoid killing too many ships.
We made a pinned message explaining some things about Interdictions, and our thoughts on them. Please have a read here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1063420/discussions/0/4041482298407346262/
We'll keep monitoring the situation.

You can always, consistently, avoid interdictions in the current state. Just takes a little practice.
