Right now there is two classes of ships. Frigate (1-3 players recommenced) and destroyer (3-4 players recommended). These ships have 5 different sets of equipment on them, for example one has gatling guns for close combat, other has railgun (actually laser sniper but railgun sounds better) turret for long range combat, third has all modules on one side.

As for enemies. There is two enemy factions, Hollow and Remnant . Also there is METEM they're your allies and you're part of this faction.

Hollow is the enemy you will face in most cases. Their forces include:

Fighter - Spawns in squadron. They will keep their formation while attacking you like any strikecraft in other sci fi fiction like Homeworld 2 for example. They have two type of weapons. Slow plasma cannons that are easy to dodge and fast speed kinetic cannons that are difficult to dodge. Both cannons do same amount of low damage but kinetics are used only at low range while plasma have bigger range.
Heavy fighter - Spawns in pair. They will fly at medium range around your ship and each will launch 2 homing torpedoes at you that do medium damage. Torpedoes can be destroyed or dodged.
Sniper - They have long range laser gun and will charge it with sound and visual que before shot at you. This attack does high damage but is easy to dodge even without thruster boost. They also will try to flee if you get close. This enemy can have a shield thats strong against kinetics but weak against energy.
Summoner - Has no weapons but will alert enemy forces causing more reinforcements to come in current region. This enemy can have a shield thats strong against kinetics but weak against energy.
Destroyer - High HP armored unit that attack like a squadron of fighters at once. This enemy can have a shield thats strong against kinetics but weak against energy.
Bomber - High HP armored unit that launches 4 homing bombs at your ship. They're slow, destroyable and giving a loud sound que before launched. Each bomb does significant amount of damage. Shoting them should be a priority for your gunners. This enemy can have a shield thats strong against kinetics but weak against energy.
Cruiser - Very high HP and strong armor. Though this enemy is slow and not big threat if you keep your distance it is advised to always move and not getting to close to them. A single volley can reap your ship apart on higher difficulty. This enemy can have a shield thats strong against kinetics but weak against energy.
Frostmourne - Acts like a leech. When attached it will suck heat from your ship lowing temperature inside your ship. This also slows your ship which can makes it easier for others enemies to attack you. I believe they are unique to Temperance biome.
Reclaimer - A battleship. literally. It jumps into your region 15 minutes after you engage first hollow unit in current region (except for optional missions). When spawns it will move at you until you're dead or jump out. Has two types of attacks one is long range (around 3.5 kilometers) fast travel double laser cannon, other is low range plasma batteries, both have high accuracy. Can't be killed or even damaged, just run.
Assembler - Mission specific enemy that doesn't have weapons but will constantly call for reinforcements. When destroyed splits into two smaller versions of themself.
Prism Mission specific stationary enemy. Doesn't do anything but surrounded by nodes. There is always two shield nodes that will be active at start, they should be destroyed before prism can be damaged. Whenever prism takes enough damage it will activate two more shield nodes until desroyed. Keep in mind nodes can also be activated as turrets or summoners. Upon destruction all nodes will be destroyed too.
Mine - Just a mine that will slowly chase your ship and do high damage to it upon detonation. Usually can be seen on container hunting mission. Also can be spawned by assemblers, some of them can be shielded and some even cloaked.

Remnant is the other faction. They are also enemies of Hollow and will fight eachother if seen. They forces include:

Fighter - Unlike hollow fighters these are more dangerous and harder to hit due to high maneuverability, speed and size. Though they spawn in squadrons they don't keep formation while attacking and will swarm your ship instead of strike attacks. Attacks with fast travel plasma that do low damage.
Heavy fighter - Same as above but bigger size. Though they do bigger damage they are easier to kill.
Frigate - High HP enemy that has fast travel plasma turrets. Shots itself do low damage but unlike fighters they shot multiple times which makes their DPS dangerous.
Freighter - Mission specific enemy. Has large amount of weapons including fast travel plasma cannons and rockets. Though it has high HP fuel tanks are weakpoints.
Communication array - Mission specific enemy that has 3 antennas which will summon reinforcements, and several turrets. It is better to focus fire on fuel tanks or antennas.
Station turret - Equipped with fast travel plasma and has a lot of HP. Pretty common even in hollow's space and will agro them. Can't shot above/below so it is advised to get into blind spot.
Mine - Remnant mines are bigger in size than hollow's ones and are stationary.

METEM forces can be summoned by specific data logs or on defend type missions. Their forces include:

Escort - Can be summoned by inserting data logs into your astral map, after that a METEM escort class ship will join your region and help you with fighting. Though this ship doesn't have much firepower it can distract enemies. Escort will follow your ship until you jump out, they won't follow you into next region.
Mine - Can be summoned by inserting data logs into your astral map, after that a dozen of mines will spawn around your ship. They will slowly move towards enemies if they are close, but won't follow your ship in current region, nor will they follow you into next region.
Transport - Mission specific ship that will wait for you to be escorted. When you're close they will move to a waypoint and should be guarded for next 5 minutes before they will jump out. They have some weapoins, including rockets but will get overrun by hollow if left unguarded for too long.
