It's not a matter of whether it can be done solo or not. It's a matter of whether it is fun or not and I don't see that a single player is going to have fun with this game.
The BRAINS are bad and cost way too much power for their effectiveness. Cruise control is minor in that many enemies predict your motion when they shoot and you're still going to get hit just cruising along in a straight line.
Logically speaking, clearing one mission is not proof or evidence that "every difficulty and mission length can be done solo" when you clearly cherry picked the mission you chose. You even start your video with "this isn't a bad one, let's do this" clearly implying your cherry picking.
If you want to "prove" every difficulty and mission length can be done solo then you have to go and do them all solo.
This is not a single player game. It's not whether a single player can do it, but whether they will be entertained with the entertainment they just purchased. The single player tag I consider to be propaganda. That is, knowingly giving false information.
you are putting words in the devs mouth with "It's not whether a single player can do it, but whether they will be entertained"
thats not the definition of "single player"
you CAN play this game alone... solo.. as a 'single' player. period. end of DEFINITION.
the entire premise of your post is YOUR OWN OPINION of what is fun...
plenty of people will find the high challenged fun....
no one said the SINGLE PLAYER in this game WILL BE fun and perfect for EVERYONE...
or did you want to keep assuming more things for random people?
its early access d00d... get off it and see where the devs take it IN TIME...
Void Crew is clearly a friends co-op mission-based game at heart. I am skeptical about moving development resources to make it more single-player friendly. The initial angle clearly was focused on co-op multiplayer vs AI missions, and dev should continue adding features in that direction IMO. It's what makes this game great is the social aspect, stress levels, coms, etc.!
Perhaps adding a LFG thread in the Steam Discussion forum as a sticky for folks looking to team up would be good. There already are multiple LFG chanels in the Void Crew Discord for folks looking to crew by region!
Also, it's a difficult game, so adding AI single-player and balancing that experience could potentially lead to more complaints as this seems off-track as far as the concept is concerned. For the few who are unable to get a few friends to play together, find a crew in the Discussion forums, try the match-making lobby, or the official Discord!
A removal of Single-Player from the description seems pretty drastic, as technically you CAN play solo, it's just less of an experience, more challenging, and not in-line with the design as it is best played/experienced co-op IMO.
No where did I put words in the devs mouth. This is you being, not logical.
If you want to go play basketball, single player, you can. Does that make basketball a single player game? You can play Monopoly single player, does that make it a single player game? You can even DM your own single party, as a single player, and that makes D&D a single player game?
You have thee most simplistic view of 'single player'. You don't factor in, at all, on whether the experience is entertaining, as if you don't understand that this is entertainment.
And yes, this is early access d00d, where you agreed to a legally binding contract that the game may already be in its final state. Whatever hope you have for the future is entirely a faith based argument.
I get it. The game has potential, but this dev team is incompetent. This is 2023 and this game has a 30 fps lock.
Steam has a return policy. I would recommend using it. I have returned games before if they didn't meet my personal expectations.
I would also recommend, in the future, avoiding Early Access titles, avoid posting lengthy rants, disrespecting the developers and fellow gamers in Discussions, and simply returning the game.
Done. Simple.
