Any of the above could be applicable. While I would like to see more of a space sim, it's likely been made this way to simplify things and give a more arcade feeling over a simulator.
Not evrey game needs to be star citizen ect.
Never said anything about star citizen, just being realistic.
Remove the speed limits, and pitching motion on vertical thrust, just have it so that you take longer time to reach whatever the maximum speed is based on which thruster set you are using and raise the speed limit or reduce the distance to objectives. These ships travel way too slow for no good reason >< 200 m/s would be fine with having to travel 7k to get to an objective, 50m/s is painful
Or some kind of short-jump or linear travel only with very restricted maneuvering and raised speed cap would work.
Tons of useless open space.
If you really wanted the physics of space, then you should be complaining about the common tactic of violating conservation of momentum in most space games. Where there is some magical frictional force that always reduces motion that is not directed outward from the front of the ship, commonly called "flight assistance." This is more akin to driving a car, where the friction of the pavement tries to keep the motion directed outward from the front of the car.
It would be awesome if someday they gave a toggle between flight assistance and no flight assistance. So my momentum would be coming out of the side of my ship, but I can point my ship in any direction I want without some magical frictional force reducing momentum just because my ship is not pointed in the direction of motion.
Ahh, the 'thick space soup' flight model
guy... its the game and the balance it needs...
if you can just move at light speed to out-maneuver all the enemies.... whats the point of the game
6DoF would be best, probably never going to happen, so dont bother complaining about it for another year or 2 minimum, when the thousand other bugs in the game are sorted out
This game won't make it another year.
I'm guessing not many of your predictions come true lol?
No one can possibly guess the amount of daily players it will have in a year, but it will not be zero. With such an excellent foundation, it's very likely to have more daily players in a year from now than currently.
Sooo yea wouldn't bet on you.
