You do realize that in terms of gaming a i5 and a i9 will provide pretty much the exact same performance...right?
Its like the games Hz are still locked to 60 or something like that.
FPS are fine but it feels aweful.
edit: sitting in a cannon is totally smooth, what is this witchcraft!
I understand these steps might seem basic for some, but I still have to go through them to discard possible sources.
From what you're saying, I guess we're talking about FPS being normal, but still experiencing mini-freezes and that kind of thing?
Trying to understand your issue as best as possible and gather information to try to help you solve this, or pass the information on to the dev team for review.

If i were to guess it had to do with optimization of the particles since the ship is damaged and theres a lot more going than normal.
After that the regular game runs very good
Hope you keep enjoying the game!

Its hard to capture but if you got a keen eye you will notice it. (and looks way worse in reality)
Like the game is still running internally @60Hz, but in a gunner seat everything is fine (frames are also always locked at 120).
bro got all that hardware and cant get fraps or OBS lol
Because my mobile is better in recording smoothness and the FPS are always at 120, so a 60 FPS recording would always look the same...
Your mobile will capture a completely different view of what is actually on your monitor though...
Yes, and that is the point as it does NOT show on a local recording.
I am having the same issue as OP, but it really isn't better even after the tutorial for me (or a friend of mine who was also playing). My frames are high (typically over 150 fps), but the game certainly doesn't feel like it. It has what I would say is an unsteady, tearing and choppiness to it. If I didn't know better, I would think it was running at 30 fps, but even then it would be smooth if that was the case. Feels like trying to play the game on low end hardware that was below minimum specs and was struggling. The FPS is nice and fluid when using the guns though. Even the aliasing looks greater than it should to me, regardless of settings.
I have watched a streamer playing it (Hermit) and it looked much smoother, so I have to believe there is something with certain hardware configs perhaps. I can (and am more than willing) to provide anything else that might help determine the cause (the whole point of EA, right?).
Specs: Win10, 5900X, 32GB Ram, RTX 4090 (537.13), 980 Pro m.2., 1440P
Tried various graphical settings. Vsync on/off, lower resolution, etc.
