I LOVED monster train. Is this similar?
Since its the same devs, are the games similar to each other?

It’s more of a co op focused roguelike with with turn based CRPG gameplay, so think BG3 mixed with hades.

Similar in that they are both roguelikes with permanent progression mechanics in place. But otherwise no,not really. Monster Train is a single player deckbuilder with a focus on card-based combat and deck perfection.

Inkbound is a cooperative turn-based strategy game with roguelike encounter-based combat and between-round randomized upgrades. It is much closer to other roguelike games of this nature in how it plays out between rounds and in progression. Think Hades, but with turd based combat rather than real time.

There is one thing that this game does share with monster train and it's one of my favorite things about Monster Train:

When you upgrade an ability, you have multiple ways to make it better, but you are limited to which ones you can pick from on each run. Similar to how you can buff monsters and spells in monster train with the shops.

I know it's a typo, but that's a funny joke that someone needs to apply to another bad game :D "This isn't turn based combat, it's turd based combat!"

Read that and had the same thought. May be a good joke in a Mr. Hankey mini game in some future South Park game.

No. Game is more like a live service feel. I didn't like it when I tried it, definitely not as much as monster train.
