Poor communication from dev team server maintenence
I was playing when I saw a chat log saying that servers would shut down shortly when I'm in the middle of a run, I don't consider this a descent way of announcing such a thing, twitter or steam page, preferably both would be a much more reasonable means of communication, had I know previowsly by a post on steam page or twitter I'd not have started playing only to be cut in the middle of a run by this.
Please work on improving communication as this game requires live service and therefore knowing when I won't be able to play is important for my time management and doing a server shut down with only in game notices is somewhat disrespectful to players that don't have much time to play due to work or other activities and need to plan their schedule around playing at some given time.

just follow their discord, they give the updates there. Just continue your run when you boot the game back up

The update was not planned, it was to apply a hot fix. So logically you'd only want to alert the people currently playing as they are the ones who will be most affected by this. Also I'm fairly sure this was put up on their discord.

It would be nice if there were a way to save a run progress.

It should be possible to save the run seed and the state of the characters on entry into each new level, no? Even without server maintenance, runs can take a few hours and sometimes stuff happens.

You can resume runs.

You mean 30m notice wasnt enough? In which you could just continue your run after you log back in

Because that's what was being said, huh. What they genuinely were trying to say.
