how devs feel about their fanbase. They only see us as dumb barn animals they think they can milk and line their pockets.
If I want to deal with season passes and MTX garbage, there's a gazzilion free to play games that offer those. I absolutely will not stand for this in a paid game, especially one that claims to be roguelite lol I'm so insulted right now that devs are so damn greedy they think they can just inject this crap into their game and we'd be so stupid to just go along with it like it's totally okay.
And to those defending it, be wary. Devs can and do make dummy accounts to disguise themselves as players. Some of the responses to this backlash seemed super sketchy all I know. I think most gamers would absolutely push back against these predatory practices, not just sit here and tell others it's totally cool and it's the times. No it's not the times. Just because some people in the world are stupid, doesn't mean everyone else has to be.
I'm just pissed because MT was such a great game. Devs said they may come back to it someday and now I am thinking it's just to inject these F2P mechanics into that game lol Wouldn't be surprised one bit.
Really hope this backfires and devs can just sell us a normal game for a normal price. Or make it free to play and I won't care and I never would of wasted my time wishlisting/following it in the first place. Unbelievable.
However, it sadly works sometimes, especially for AAA games.
(looking at diablo 4 which is about to be released as an expensive game + in-game shop + paid battlepass, and I still have friends who will 100% buy it....)
All the DLC and online only stuff might be annoying to some folks, but it does not affect me in the slightest. So. Yeah. Day 1 buy!
