Watering can not functioning

I opened the game today and the watering can doesn't work when I try to use it. I can still click on it and the watering animation plays, but it does not water crops and the water level in the can never decreases.

Reloading the game from the menu or restarting the game doesn't fix it. I haven't seen anything else unusual with this save either.

If you are using Mods, make sure that they are up to date for Summer Sun. As the Summer Sun update changed the back end files.

If you dev commanded it in, may be delete it and try again

If you purchased it from Rayne, do you remember how you filled it with water?
(can fill them from river, ocean, well, water bed or garden tap)

I haven't used any mods or commands.

I purchased it from Rayne about 10 days ago and have been using it continuously. It worked fine the previous day (in game)/a few days ago (IRL).

The icon shows it to be full and the water level never decreases when I 'use' it. I also tried refilling it again and it still doesn't work.

ok do you have access to purchase a new one maybe?

May need to just purchase a new watering can.

Okay, so I tested things again and figured it out. The watering can is working properly.

But my crops are already watered at the start of the day and it's not raining. Not sure if this is intentional or a bug (as in it rained from 6-7 am before I wake up).

Also, the water level in the can only decreases when actually watering an unwatered crop. Watering a non-crop or already watered tile does not use up water. I feel like this wasn't the case before and I missed the change, or I'm just thinking of other games.

ohhh okok I really didn't even think of that to be honest - my bad for not bringing it up as a possibility. I will remember to mention it next time.

Yeah I noticed that sometimes the crops will be 'watered' when the rain is scheduled for later on in the day.

You can see the weather forecast with the weather station that Franklyn makes.

The weather changes up to 3 times in the day, 7am, 12pm and 6pm. There are items in the game that will manipulate the weather. Found in the 2nd level of mines or at the new Island Reef.
