Potato seeds

Rayne says that potato seeds produce 3 potatoes. I got 3,442 potatoes from 912 seeds.
Am I alone who experienced this? I don't know if it is bug but this number is so random. It isn't even 4 potatoes from seed. Like some pototaes seeds produce 3 some 4?

it's normal in Dinkum. yes, there is RNG at work. Rayne's estimate is an average, not an exact number.
but whatfore do you need over 3000 potatoes ?

Thanks for explanation. It's not like I need so many potatoes. I just have big farm with 912 tiles :)

As someone with a 2400-tile farm, if I only have 3000 potatoes I consider myself out of potatoes. :) (And yes, I've experienced the RNG, but it's only with some crops.)

Why do I need so many potatoes (and kale, and fairy bread, and... etc)? How else would I have amassed 1,000,000,000 (1 billion) Dinks in the bank?
