Map areas with huge fps drops
Anyone have parts of their maps where frames drop dramatically?

I have this one beach area that even on day 1 of my first year saw 90% frame drops when entering and then promptly going back to normal when leaving. It was just an empty beach area. It's way more developed now but has the same effect despite way more things to render. As if that makes any sense 🤔.

I'd go from 75 frames to 7 frames for no reason and then bounce back when I leave that area. It's also weird because I wouldn't see this in jungle areas with far more things to render.

If I stop moving for a few seconds the game then catches up and restores the fps.

Pretty sure it's not my computer as my ram, CPU, and GPU utilization are nowhere near even 75%. Ram isn't even at 30% (but I also have 48 gb).

Anyone else have similar areas in their maps with massive fps drops that don't seem to have a reason?

I have not found any on either of my maps. That is really strange. I would be interested to know what's causing that.

I started a new map just to design and haven't encountered this yet. But my original map was from a few weeks after the game was released and maybe due to early coding?

I don't think so. My other map was one I was playing when the game first released. I wonder if there is something weird going on underground in that area. Like when there used to be broken tiles in the ocean. Maybe something similar under the beach? Maybe a shark got stuck under there somehow and is just freeking out constantly lol. :steammocking:

I had never heard of this before, it is certainly strange.

I also have this one area by my kegs were the game always has a dramatic FPS drop. Every single time I go to collect one keg's brew, FPS plummets only to rebound in the next few tiles. Every single time and it's only on one keg's output. Maybe I'll try remove the kegs and see what happens.

Ya why not? Let me know if anything changes. I am really curious about this now.
