Wombat
So I got a big fat wombat and an empty milk bucket. Can I milk the wombat?, I tried with the bucket equipped but it doesn't come up with a prompt to milk the wombat.

How do I know when to milk him/her?

Check the animal tab. They need to eat before they'll produce.

I think they need to eat the day before. Like pleeps don't poof their wool until the next day, so they need to eat the day before. Pretty sure all animals are like this.
