PC and Steam Deck crossplay?

Hey, I'm trying to join my daughter's world who we just bought the game for. I set her up in multiplayer with friends only as a host. it seems that I'm unable to join though. Is the steamdeck just unable to host sessions?

Just checked and I can host, who exactly is trying to host and what is the problem?

Check the privacy settings of your daughter's account. You need to have it set that friends can see your online status or her game won't show for you.
Assuming you are on the same Wifi, we find it easier to connect using the LAN option. Have her start the multiplayer game on LAN, then when you connect you click the button in the middle of the screen and enter the IP that's on her Options screen.
