Can my friend put a sleeping bag in my home?

As i said in the title is there a possibility for my friend to live in my tend? i would like to play this game feeling like the island is not mine but ours

Yes they can and they can even grab a sleeping bag from Fletch's tent if they forget to bring one. Suggestion, if they haven't done it yet, have your friend create their own world first, do the full tutorial from Fletch to get all the basic blueprints and then sleep to save their game before joining you on your world.

Can you build, as a visitor, on the host's world? I thought building stuff was only reserved for the host

They mean you could build a second house specifically for the friend, whether or not that is made by the host. I haven't played in a bit, is it only the host who can choose where to place stuff?
