(1) Has the number of bats ever been reduced since the game began. There are just so many of them.

(2) What weapon is best to fight the bats? I've seen the flaming bat used and also the spear.

(3) What exactly does the bat zapper do?

the best "weapon" against whatever, bats included is Food Buffs

direct weapon is matter of preference, i prefer Flaming Bat
but actually better is to avoid as many as you can
next to food buff is Running the best "weapon"
