The mu's just remain wherever you dismounted from them and really just become another vehicle ...Tip if you use a controller - Mu's are far easier to control if you only partially squeeze the trigger.
Glider range is determined by the height you jump from when activating them - personally I use the mod you mention as it's a convenient fast way of travelling the map (my buildings are spread throughtout the map)
Yes, indeed the dog is useless i let him as deco in the base. But the Mu is cool.
