how does the silo work?

i am wondering how the silo works
is it animal feeder surrounding it or just animal feeders in a 8x8 radius?

it's actually a 18x18 square if you count the center four tiles of the silo items. It's 8 in every direction, so 8 tiles on the right/up, 2 for the silo, 8 more tiles on the left/down in a square shape.

and there is a grid of 18x18 to represent animal feeders i think this is how it works
P.s the left and right side of the silo hasnt been drawn with a line so imagine its there
