i plant & spare sugar only for the Pavlova. it's a potent food & you can make tons of money with it.
Fruit Salat gives you only 10 Stamina + Speed for 2 min, it's food only for speed, you get your stamina better with cooked fruits, simple Cooked Banana gives you aready 10 Stamina
better than Pavlova is only Prime Roast (50/50) but it's way harder to come to than a bag of sugar, one big egg & fruit salat
i bother only with Wheat for Bread, Sugar for Pavlova & Kokos for Lamington
i make Bread only to sell it
i also sell every excess of the other 2, Pavlova & Lamington, but carry a small stack with me
if you want sell fruits, make cooked fruits, that's better value than fruit salat imo
adding sugar for fairy bread = 2 sugar = 2 cane = 2 seeds x 400 = 800 total cost, makes 4 fairy bread selling at 2569 each = 10276, 10276 / 2960 total cost = 3.471 or 247% profit (more with commerce license)
now calculate that way for the Pavlova please
1 Wheat = 281
1 Flower = 2184
1 Bread = 8190
1 Sugar Cane = 728
1 Sugar = 1248
4 Fairy Bread = 13359
4 Wheat (1124) VS 1 Flour (2184) Better to sell Flour than wheat
3 Flour (2184) VS 1 Bread (8190) Better to sell Bread than Flour
1 Sugar Cane (728) VS 1 Sugar (1248) Better to sell Sugar than Cane
2 Sugar + 1 Bread (9646) VS 4 Fairy Bread (13359) I'll Sell Fairy Bread
But time is money so you have to determine if the time to process is worth the extra cash or not.
Again, just looking at cost and sell values...
For the big chicken eggs, what's the cost? We could say it's 5k for a chicken, but it doesn't cost 4x 5k per pavlova. 5k for a chicken gives infinite eggs over time. We could say the cost of the egg is the feed. Chickens don't lay eggs if they didn't eat the previous day. You can buy feed from Irwin for 100 but you can also make it for free using grass seeds. So... For the sake of this discussion, let's just say we buy feed and so the cost of a big chicken egg is 100.
Fruit salad has no cost. It's made from the 4 fruits we get for free.
Pavolva also takes 2 sugar, so sugar cost is 800 plus 400 for the 4 big chicken eggs, total cost = 1200.Wiki says Pavlova sells for 6860 so 6860 / 1200 = 5.716 or 472% profit (after "paying back" the 5k cost of the chicken or how many chickens bought).
as @Dragorin points out time is also money, that's probably my main point with Bread against Fairy Bread, Bread is just way simpler to make
also Wheat needs 9 days to grow, while Sugar Cane needs 12, which makes Wheat more efficient over time
the seed price of both is more or less the same, so of no real consequence
Use cheap fencing to setup defensive lines before engaging the alpha. You can direct an alpha to attack a few ways which makes them super predictable and you can attack them with a spear from a distance over the fence. Makes alpha fights very, very easy. Also the fence blocks most directed fire from bush devils too. The roo is pretty easy without, but the bush devil and croc can be more challenging and benefit from the simplest fencing to limit how an alpha can attack you.
