People are not asking to be permanent resident
Greeting! I'm under some situation that I'm not sure if it's a bug. I'm currently in Year 1 Autumn 22. I have already built bank, museum, grocery, greenhouse in my town. But according to my previous game experience, there are still clothing shop, pet shop, furniture shop, lab and many other buildings remaining. Those visitors still regularly come to the visit site, but it's been quite a long time (probably a month) that no one asks to be a permanent resident, even if I try hard to fulfill their needs and buy their goods. Do I just need more patience to persuade them, or is there some kind of bug makes them not coming?

You likely haven't met their heart and spending requirements.

I guess , compare to the previous version I played before, the freindship and spending requirement has increased significantly. It was much easier, and that's why I ask this.

Thank you very much!

You're buying the stuff on display right? Catalogue spending doesn't count.

Franklyn would be the exclusion to catalogue spending. When starting a new game, I always hoard the items needed to order from his catalogue the first time he visits. They have always counted toward the 190,000 dinks needed to be spent to have him move in permanently. He's the most expensive NPC to woo onto the island and the one I woo their lab coat off of to get them in. He can be as rude as he wants, I want his Toys. I will take Franklyn over all other NPCs but John. You need John or it's going to be one tough game and he knows it. :D

It's been a while since I started a new map, he doesn't even have anything on display for sale right in his tent? Hence why commissions count for him.

Actually, yes he does. Franklyn has 2 items always for sale in his store. Without starting a new game to get the same image, look at this image from the Dinkum Wiki[dinkum.fandom.com] of Franklyn's store in the Visitor's tent. You can see the random Blueprint at 5,000 dinks and the Repair Kit at 30,000 dinks sitting at the upper left corner on the table. They have always been part of his store of items for sale whether it be the visitor's tent or his permanent lab.

I remember the first time I played the game and got Franklyn in the Visitor's tent. I was very ticked that I bought the Repair Kit without knowing I needed the Repair Table to use it until later. I had already ordered something from his catalogue and had to wait until he visited again to order the Repair Table. Wasting 30,000 dinks on an item that repairs nothing yet makes for an expensive item sitting in a storage crate and had I known, I could have used that 30,000 towards a better catalogue item.
