bridges and fences incompatible

so yeah you cant place a bridge with a fence underneath and you cant place fences underneath a bridge any one have any info?

Nothing can go under bridges. Don't think of them as a arc with room under it, think of them as one solid block, because that's how it acts. Fish won't even spawn or swim under them.

I have had animals somehow spawn under bridges and get stuck until I break the bridge.

I don't think they spawn under there i think they some how fall through and then get stuck, that has been my observation on my islands.
