Bring a shovel and when it beeps with circles...look around you or that spot to find a tile with intense beeping and looks like a distorted sun icon. Then start digging!
You'll have to dig quite a bit to find the brown 'cans' that u have to hit open or the dumptster (yellow and green) looking ones (rarer) to get the old contraption. Just spend a whole in game day doing it near water sources and you're sure to get a few - remember to bring 2 shovels so you can spend the whole day on this.
